I hope you are all keeping well in these unfamiliar times. This post is to let you all know that The Mini Interior Design Company is open for business as usual. I am lucky enough to work from home offering an online service, so I am still creating those beautiful interior design ideas for my customers. Most home and furniture retailers are still operating online too. This means that the products on the shopping lists that I provide are still accessible to buy if you so wish. 

 

 

You may be finding it difficult to keep occupied at the moment. If it’s one thing most of us are not used to, it’s spending so much time at home. We are all experiencing uncertainty and will need to find ways to use our spare time. Well, now is the perfect opportunity for some home DIY. If this is something you have been putting off then why not commit to a decorating project whilst you can? Your dream decor is achievable and pursuing it will give you a great sense of fulfilment and satisfaction. It’s more important than ever to enjoy our surroundings. Stylish interiors make us feel happier and can lift our mood and spirit enormously too. I for one have already begun spending some worthwhile time on my house and making it look its best.

Even small changes can make a big difference in how you feel about your home. If like me, you have stores of leftover paint from other projects, why not take a look to see if you can use these up or mix colours to revive another room. Even repainting tired-looking woodwork or internal doors can refresh areas that are in need of some TLC. 

 

Starting home decorating may seem daunting but if you do it bit by bit, it will soon come together. I recommend starting one room at a time and allocating yourself a job to do each day such as a coat of wall paint. I have followed this schedule with two rooms in the last couple of weeks and the decorating in both is now complete. I am now up to the stage of adding the furnishing and detail – which is the best part of all. I am so pleased I started. 

 

* Tip

Break larger decorating works up into small chunks and do a bit each day, so as to not get bogged down. You will be surprised how quickly the transformation starts to unfold.
